It’s a new year and that means new trends in home decor and design! The palette forecast is in, and there are many new and exciting color combinations for you to try. Whether you are wanting to give your kitchen a facelift, spice up your bedroom, or planning a whole renovation, these color palettes are fresh, trendy, and ready to brighten up your space.
At the International Home + Housewares Show, Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman revealed what color and design trends we can expect next year, and there seems to be something for just about everyone.
Resourceful: A palette made up of complementary blue and orange colors. Quite an interesting color combination, this palette brings together warm and cool tones that draw your eye. You can’t help but stare!
Verdure: Vegetal colors like Celery are combined with berry-infused purples and eggshell blue, symbolic of health, in this palette.
Playful: Minion-like and delightful, these bright yellow and lime popsicle colors come together with all other things fun for this color scheme. If you need some more happiness in your home, this is the palette for you!
Discretion: This palette is ‘Playful’s’ twin with a brooding dark side. Subtle hues such as Elderberry and Hawthorne Rose offer a new sense of strength. These colors are an evolution of pink, holding power and evoking confidence.
Far-fetched: With warm, earthy hues such as Cornsilk Yellow blending with rosy tones, this palette reaches out and embraces many different cultures.
Intricacy: A palette of neutral metallics (AKA, the “new neutrals”) with accents of dramatic Holly Berry red and yellow Sulfur. Metallics seem to be the future of holding down a room. Don’t be afraid of them- go for it!
Intensity: This is an eclectic mix of colors that evokes a sense of strength, power and sophistication, all balanced with black and gold.
TECH-nique: Bright turquoise, pink and purple colors anchored with Brilliant White and Frosted Almond nod to technology. This palette is all about hues that seem to shine from within.
